Betty is our wonderful client in North York who is working at the hospital as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. We commend her hard word in this crucial and difficult position in health and safety, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Betty’s dedication to her work is determined and admirable, and we are humbled that we were able to help someone close to us that is a front line worker. These workers in the healthcare sector are fighting to save lives and protect our community while we have been self-isolated, social distancing, and separated from our loved ones.
Three years ago, when Betty and her husband Reza hired us to renovate their kitchen, they pretty much knew the design and approach they wanted to take. They had just finished a big renovation project in their previous home before selling it and were looking to do another renovation in their new home, but this time with more attention to detail and some help from a kitchen designer. When they found us online and read our Google reviews, they knew they wanted to hire us to complete this new job for them. Based on our previous client’s testimonies and completed project photos, our style and business approach grasped their attention and they moved forward with meeting us.
The new house had a small kitchen but they wanted a big island to use for everyday cooking and living. Usually there would have to be a compromise to allocate for more space to walk around the island. The options would either be a small island with enough space around it, or a large island and minimal walking space, but they wanted to get the best of both of these options. With this specific request in mind, we built a special island with hidden wheels underneath it that will allow them to move the island when they need to make more room for their guests or expand the space in the kitchen. It was not a usual method for a kitchen island, but it was definitely a game changer for their plans and allowed them to feel secure knowing that they can have exactly what they want and not have to give up on a dream.
Earlier this year, they hired us again to create a basement kitchen and wall unit. We had begun the process and built their cabinets, everything was made and installations were nearing completion, but just before the project was almost completed we had to change the course of action due to the Covid-19 business closures in Ontario. For the safety of our clients and employees, all projects had to be paused as we followed orders to cancel home visits and close all non-essential businesses, and so we shut down our office and factory for a few weeks. Once we received permission to continue with caution, we managed to help Betty to complete her basement kitchen. It was especially important that she had a comfortable space to be in since she needed to stay separated from her family upstairs after working her shift in the ICU. We understood the urgency and were happy to help in any way we could, while following the government regulations and keeping updated with permitted guidelines.
Since they have worked with different renovation teams before, their trust and loyalty to us really means a lot. For Betty and Reza, they appreciate our professional, amazing work and affordable prices. They continue to come to us with their project ideas, provide photos and reviews, share their stories, and everything else that really allows us to appreciate how our clients also become our friends.
It was our pleasure working with Betty and Reza. A very big thank you for giving us the opportunity to help during this uncertain time, we are so happy to see how much they enjoyed the new look once it was all complete. We hope to continue working together and wish their family all the best.
